    School Voucher Information

During her recent budget address, Governor Kristi Noem outlined a plan to utilize $4 million of taxpayer money to pay for a new program she is calling "education savings accounts."

This is more accurately described as a voucher program that can divert public funds to private schools. This flyer gives just a few details of why this can be a potentially harmful plan.

Follow the link below to take you to a folder with more information of the harmful effects voucher programs have had elsewhere and could have here. Also, within this folder you can find a link to the South Dakota Legislature website where you can easily access contact information of your local legislators if you feel strongly about this topic and want to make your voice heard.

Finally, if you want more information on school vouchers, it will be on the January School Board Meeting agenda which will be held at White Lake High School Library on Monday, January 13 at 7:00 PM. For my information, reach out to Superintendent Gottlob at the school.
